Modules and Certificates
The training programme offered by CompeTE+, the Centre of Excellence for Doctoral Students, is structured in modules. Workshops and lectures on a variety of topics are held regularly across five areas of expertise (modules).
Participants have the opportunity to obtain a ↓ certificate.
Academic Writing (WA)
The courses in this module provide training in academic writing, good academic practice and time management. Courses on publishing in German and English are also offered.
Management (M)
This module focuses on imparting management skills as a foundation for entrepreneurial thinking and action. It covers marketing, project management, negotiation and leadership, as well as starting a business.
Teaching and Didactics (LD)
This module is aimed particularly at lecturers and researchers who envisage a future career in research and higher education. Even whilst undertaking your PhD, you can deepen your understanding of the fundamentals of subject-specific didactics, which will be necessary later on in higher education teaching.
Research Funding (FF)
This module addresses the growing importance of research funding from third-party sources. The focus is on state, federal and EU funding programmes. It also provides important guidance and suggestions on how to successfully submit funding applications. In addition, information sessions on doctoral scholarships are held.
Research Communication (FK)
To improve oral and written academic communication skills, courses on the fundamentals of rhetoric and media training are offered alongside sessions on academic presentation.
